TNCC INSTRUCTOR COURSE

The TNCC Instructor Course is a one-day course for current TNCC Providers that includes online pre-course modules and lecture. Instructor Candidate (IC) status is awarded upon completion of the course evaluation. The goal of the TNCC Instructor Course is to prepare nurses to effectively teach the TNCC Provider Course.

The instructor course is open to current TNCC Providers who were recognized as having instructor potential during their provider course. After the instructor course, instructor candidates must be monitored teaching within 12 months to become a TNCC instructor.

Prerequisites:

  • Current RN license 

  • Current TNCC Provider

  • Identified as having instructor potential during their provider course

  • Additional pre-testing and/or course observation may be necessary depending on the date and edition of the provider course

  • Have identified a TNCC Course Director who will support them through the monitoring process.

Registration:

Pre-registration is required

Pre-course preparation is essential. This includes:

  • Completing the online modules

  • Studying the TNCC Provider Manual 9th ed.

  • Being ready to teach assigned course components

  • Current email address is REQUIRED to complete online modules and for course confirmation. 

Competency Validation/Pre-course Testing:

Attendees with Instructor Potential status are required to revalidate their competency as Providers prior to the Instructor Course. This competency validation may be scheduled the same day as the Instructor Course OR up to 90 days before.

Preparation is strongly recommended to attain the required 90% written examination and skill station scores to be eligible to attend the Instructor Course.
